Engr. Iftikhar Ahmad, a University of the Punjab graduate, presently a successful entrepreneur, has been in the automotive parts industry since 1987. Risan Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd., majorly supplies to Pakistan’s leading Original Equipment Manufacturer in the Automobile Sector, Atlas Honda Limited. Additionally, he is the Managing Partner of Febcon Engineering Company, which also manufactures auto parts in Pakistan. He is recognized for his stable and steady financial performance, exemplary leadership track record, and active CSR practices.

He got AOTs training from Japan in 1997, and also been a trainee of CBI’s Export Training Program from Netherlands in 2015. The PAAPAM Symposium 2020 organized by him under the subject of “Future of Automotive Industries in Pakistan” and organized the 2nd PAAPAM Symposium 2022 “Pakistan Automotive Industry 2040-A Paradigm Shift”, which discussed the future of the auto-industry. It helped the derivation of required policy of automotive industry.

He has been serving in PAAPAM (Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers) since 1988, and has formerly served as Vice Chairman (2014-15) and Chairman (2017-18). He has shown his strong commitment towards giving back the society through his decisions. In 2015, he pioneered the PAAPAM Skill Development Center (PSDC), as a separate yet hard-wired wing for the training of member companies’ HR. Furthermore, in partnership with the Punjab Government and the Punjab Skill Development Funds (PSDF), he also established a training school at the premises of Risan Engineering Industries Pvt. Limited.

He strongly believes that the Industry, Academia, and The Government should be linked with one another, and thus, he established such projects whenever he was given the opportunity. PAAPAM NUST DICE 2015 Auto & Auto Parts Exhibition in Islamabad is one major contribution in this respect. His current affiliations are:

• Currently a member of the Corporate Advisory Council of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST)
• Focal Person for Policy Making on Industry-Academia Linkage at the National University of Technology (NUTECH)
• Member of the University of the Punjab’s Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) Steering Committee
• Currently a Member of Academia-Industry Linkage Committee of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce Industry, and same activities he is doing in Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

He is regarded as an exceptional business leader who, by foresight, ingenuity, and strength, brought about favorable changes in the corporate climate of Pakistan’s automotive industry.
